Frequently Asked Questions
Starting September 17, Christ Church will pair a 6-week sermon series with weekly discussions in small groups. So what you hear on Sunday, you get to live out during the week because of this additional experience. Signup for your group by Sept 16.
This year’s topic is based on Kyle Idleman’s book, “One at a Time.” We want to make a difference in the world we live in with our one-and-only life. Jesus made a difference one person at a time. Jesus spoke to crowds 15 times, but he spoke to individuals 40 times. Christ Church’s current churchwide goal is to learn to love our neighbors like Jesus by becoming compassionate, caring neighbors who are available to tell our God stories. So for these 6 weeks, we are going to learn how we can best love everyone we encounter, one person at a time.
The sermon series and small groups begin September 17.
In 60- 90 minute sessions over six weeks, you will meet new people, get a chance to clarify how the topic and scriptures are impacting you, and hear how they are impacting others. Bible knowledge is not required, though it is sure to increase. More importantly, you learn how to put scripture into action.
On Sunday mornings, you can buy “One at a Time,” by Kyle Idleman, from the Book Nook (outside of the Sanctuary). The cost is $5. You can also get this book from the front office, Mon-Thurs, 9a-3p. There also is a daily devotional available for an additional $5.

Christ Church defines a disciple as learning to love like Jesus every day where we live, work and play. The intentionality that comes with the routine and the gentle accountability that comes from knowing we are all rowing our oars in the same direction every week, drives transformation in a person. Small groups are where we go from learning about Jesus to loving like Jesus.
