Wayne Botkin

Executive Pastor of New Church Development | Mosaic

When Wayne moved with his wife, Tricia, from Kettering to Springboro in 2008 to be part of launching an extension of Christ Church, he knew it would be an adventure in faith. The most exciting part of starting a new campus ministry for Wayne was meeting new people, helping people get connected to God's love in new ways, and being part of seeing lives changed through God's transforming power. Although ministry has taken the Botkins many places and helped them be involved in people's lives throughout the Miami Valley, nationally in New York City, Chicago, and North Carolina, internationally in Mexico, South Korea and Russia, Wayne's favorite trip was with Tricia to tour Greece! To walk where the apostle Paul walked in Corinth, Ephesus, Philippi, and Thessaloniki was incredible. Wayne met Tricia at The Ohio State University where he played trumpet in the marching band and received his degree in Business Administration in Human Resources. In 2001 he received a Masters in Divinity from the Methodist Theological School of Ohio and served 15 years in youth ministry (6 at Christ Church) before he was appointed as the pastor to help start South Campus. He enjoys time with family, especially his nieces (one of who lives with him and Tricia), attending and cheering them on at various events. Wayne looks forward to meeting you and hearing your story and journey of faith!

Lance Moyer

Executive Pastor

Lance is a passionate worshipper and Christ Follower. His 40 years of music experience combined with 16 years of professional corporate experience led him to his current dual role at South Campus. Among his favorite things to do at work is putting the music together for Sunday morning worship and special events. Lance says he feels so blessed to be able to spend time at work finding ways to honor and glorify God through music and he feels privileged to lead a congregation with it. His very favorite moments are when he sees someone in the congregation really connecting with God through the music. Lance also enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids.

Steve Rudisill

Executive Pastor

Pastoral Ministry is a second career for Pastor Steve as he spent 20 years in sales prior to answering his call, predominantly at Johnson and Johnson in Pharmaceutical Sales. Steve strongly believes that the local church is still the greatest tool God uses to change the world. He is particularly passionate about the people who have had a bad church experience or have no church history at all and bringing them to know a life with Christ. He believes we have God given talents so that we can share them with others. His favorite saying is “We are blessed to be a blessing.” Steve is from the Dayton area and has been married to Tina since 1999. They are the proud parents of teenage sons Brady and Tate. Steve loves to perform music, is a huge super hero geek (prefers marvel) and is most happy if he is wherever his wife and kids are.

Nancy Byrd

Congregational Care Coordinator

Born and raised in the Dayton area, my favorite home is anywhere I can be outside: gardening, hiking, camping-just taking in the sights and sounds of God’s creation. I also enjoy cooking, learning from folks about their life passions, and discovering all the new hiding places my two cats have found for their kitty toys. I have been a certified Lay Servant in the United Methodist Church for many years, but in 2015-16 I took the leap to complete the Certified Lay Ministry Academy. Hearing God’s call and actually taking steps to see it fulfilled is both scary and exhilarating…all at the same time!

Nate is always looking for a volunteers and will teach a volunteer anything they need to know to serve in the media department at Christ Church. In addition to Sunday services, Nate creates most of the graphics found around the church (Kettering and South Campus). He believes in going the extra mile, above and beyond what is expected, from making house calls, addressing computer issues, or setting aside time to help others get up to speed on their new tech gadget. Apple computers are his specialty and he will talk your ear off about it if you ask. If you ever see Nathan around the church or out and about feel free to stop and chat!

Kristi Smith

Family Ministry Director | South

What makes Kristi feel most alive is connecting to God and people in real ways. She believes God's presence is most powerfully experienced in the honesty of our brokenness. There is no need to pretend or to try and impress her. She would much rather talk to you honestly about her struggles and God’s mercy. She has learned that religion does not need to be acover up for our sins but instead can be a chance to uncover God’s grace. From an early age Kristi dreamed of becoming a missionary and sharing God’s love. Through the years she has served as leader in youth, women’s, and singles ministries. She has also loved being a worship leader, Bible study teacher, and director of pastoral care. Her most challenging roles are that of being a widow and empty-nester. Kristi is the bestselling author of “DREAM…a guide to grieving gracefully.” With a degree in Psychology and 30 years of ministry experience, Kristi has a solid knowledge of how the mind, body, and spirit work together. It is this spiritual perspective that transcends the traditional view of life and brings authentic power.
