Christ Church Phyllis Lyn Gabriel Scholarship

The Phyllis Lyn Gabriel Memorial Scholarship Fund was established by her friends and family to benefit the youth active in the youth program of Christ United Methodist Church. This award will be presented annually by the church.

Phyllis Lyn was a dedicated Christian and Bible Scholar. At the time of her death she was preparing for missionary work. Phyllis’ active life was a testimony to her faith which she expressed as, “Faith is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.”

Eligibility:

  • Any student entering college or graduate school and associated with Christ United Methodist Church
  • Active in school and community activities
  • Need of financial aid

Selection Criteria: Successful academic performance, content of written essay, two recommendations (family members are not eligible to write recommendation), verification of degree of participation and leadership by teacher, counselor, advisor, or pastor; consideration of financial need, personal interview.

The West Ohio Conference

Student Leadership Scholarships are awarded to students from your United Methodist congregation who have shown leadership ability in church, school, and community, and have maintained a minimum 2.5 GPA. 

Merit Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement.  Recipients must have a 3.0 GPA minimum, demonstrate leadership, financial need, or special preparation for ministry or other service, or a combination of these factors.

The Ethnic Minority Scholarship is available to an incoming freshman of ethnic origin who plans to attend any United Methodist college or university and has a 2.5 GPA minimum and financial need.

Students applying for any of these scholarships must meet the following basic criteria plus any specific requirements of the individual scholarship.  

  • An active member of the United Methodist Church for at least one year prior to applying
  • A citizen or permanent resident of the United States
  • Attending or planning to attend an accredited institution of higher learning fulltime

Harry Denman Youth Evangelism Award

Young people who respond to the Great Commission of Jesus as modeled by John Wesley and Harry Denman, founder of The Foundation for Evangelism, may be nominated by their local churches; annual conferences will make the final selections. 2009-2010 Medical Permission Form

The Annual Permission form is needed for any and all events at Christ Church. This form needs to be signed by the parent's or guardian of the teen who is participating with Christ Church student ministries.

Out of Area Medical Form

Due to the new HIPPA regulations, this form must be completed for any trip more than 2 hours aware.

 

Superfund Application

Want to participate in a trip or event, but you're low on cash? Fill out the Superfund Application and be "hired" by people in the church to do different jobs. Money you earn will be put into your account and will be used for trips, retreats, and events.
